I do not know what to do, I cannot quit feeling this way...?

I am suffering from depression, I know it because I had post partum depression several years ago. Yesterday and today I just keep crying and crying over nothing. My husband said to stay home and not go to work but I wanted to come because hopefully this will help me. I am currently on Flouexetine twice a day. Please help, I just do not know why I feel this way again, there are moments where I just cannot stop crying. I do not want to see a psyciatrist again because all they do is give me tons of medicine to make me feel sleepy the whole day!!

First question is How long have you been taking fluoxetene? This SSRI class of medication can take several weeks before the therapeutic dosage is reached. If, in fact, you have clinical depression, there is no need to take "tons of medicine". The SSRI class of drugs are very effective if taken in the appropriate dose. If you continue to feel this morose then please tell your doctor. He/She can adjust the dosage or switch you to another medication that may be more effective for you. Don't forget.of ALL the mental illnesses, depression is the most successfully treatable.

Take a long relaxing vacation. Hang out with your kids, maybe they will make you feel better.

Maybe you should see your doctor and talk about changing or stregthening your dose. Talk to your husband on what may be the issue. Stress, feeling lonely, or something wrong. Staying home from work beleive me isnt going to help because then you will be alone. And its not going to help if you feel this way all the time. My husband went to iraq and i had just had a baby with colic and trust me just getting out talking to friends and getting a job helped me through my depression. Maybe change up your routine. Take some time out from the kids and take a walk with your husband or take the kids to the park. You may just be tired of the routine. If it gets too bad you should talk to your psyciatrist to help you thru this time. Good luck!
